What Data We Collect

Responding to Your Requests for Information or Support

When you contact us, either through the communication functionality of the BYTE website or by any other means, we collect the information you provide in order to respond to your request.

Use of BYTE’s Electronic Signature/Seal Services

We collect the information required by Greek law and EU legislation as part of the contracts we conclude with our subscribers for the provision of qualified digital certificates and electronic signature/seal services. The qualified digital certificate may include either the subscriber’s Tax Identification Number (TIN), ID card number, or passport number.

Client, Supplier, and Partner Representatives’ Data

In the context of our collaborations, we receive from clients, suppliers, and partners information such as full name, contact details, and position or role of their representatives for the purpose of project management or the provision of jointly implemented services.

How We Process the Data

The collection, processing, and management of personal data are subject to the terms of this data protection policy and the relevant provisions of Greek and EU legislation for the protection of individuals and personal data, as applicable.

The personal data we collect is processed exclusively for the declared purposes, as described herein.

Data Disclosure

BYTE does not sell, lease, transfer, or disclose personal data to third parties in any way.

An exception applies only when the disclosure of data is required by an explicit legal provision and solely to the competent authorities.

How We Protect the Data

We take all reasonable physical, technical, and organizational security measures to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or unauthorized access or use. BYTE is ISO/IEC 27001 certified, ensuring a high level of security.

Data Retention Period

We retain your data based on the following criteria:

  • As long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to provide our services to you
  • As long as necessary to comply with any legal obligations

Your Rights

Data subjects retain all rights arising from applicable Greek and EU legislation, particularly the rights to be informed, access, rectify, complete, delete, and restrict the processing of their personal data.

In particular, under the applicable data protection framework, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw your consent regarding the processing of your personal data at any time
  • Request information about the personal data we process about you
  • Request a copy of the personal data we process about you
  • Correct or complete any incomplete or inaccurate personal data about you
  • Request the deletion of your personal data
  • Object to the processing of your personal data where there is a lawful reason

The Hellenic Data Protection Authority is responsible for issues related to compliance and enforcement of personal data protection legislation. You may contact the Authority for any related matter within its jurisdiction.

When the exercise of the above rights depends solely on our actions, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the legitimacy of your request, possibly asking for additional information for this purpose. We will make every effort to respond to your request within the one-month timeframe set by the General Data Protection Regulation and will inform you in case an extension of this period is justified.
